Stem cell technology and anti-aging skin care is a new phenomenon in the cosmetics industry. Since 2005, stem cell cosmetics began to spread around the world. Stem cell cosmetics are the most profound skin care progress in recent years. The cosmetics are the first product that can accommodate the regenerative potential of your own facial stem cells to restore the skin and make it look young again.

Unfortunately, unsafe or unscientific stem cell cosmetics are increased gradually. They are not developed based on scientific research. Scientists, who are developers of them, not published their research results in any scientific journals. They want to use only stem cell

This ability to generate any cells from such starting tissue is the property of "totipotency". They can dedifferentiate from tissue or a cell to totipotent cell cluster, callus. The callus are able to become any type of specialized cells (root, leaves, etc.) or become a new plant.


On the other hand, animals can not generally regenerate missing parts of their bodies. There is only one totipotent cell derived from fertilized egg at the first and divides identical totipotent cells, called embryonic stem cells. Other adult stem cells are pluripotent but not totipotent. Pluripotent stem cells can give rise to any fetal or adult cell type. However, alone they cannot develop into a fetal or adult animal because they lack the potential to contribute to extraembryonic tissue, such as the placenta . A little potion of cells also is only adult stem cells.

This distinction is the biggest point of difference between plant and animal. Plant stem cell is not defined by scientifically because all plant cells are stem cells. Plant stem cell cosmetics claim that they use plant stem cell or plant stem cell extracts in them. Is it correct? If this is correct, all cosmetics may be stem cell cosmetics. Plant stem cell cosmetics have not been gained academic recognition as real stem cell cosmetics.
